Overview

SansSouci II is a 23.8 meter (78 ft) Motor Sailer, purpose built for extended cruising for up to 14 passengers in absolute safey and comfort. Operating in the Mentawai's since 1997, SansSouci II is well known, well proven for reliability and comfort, being the perfect surf platform for your surf holiday. Trips are normaly 11-13night duration (unless longer if required) with 10-12 full days of surfing with no need to stop for fuel, water or delayed by the weather. Cruising at 10 - 11 knots (20+ KPH) in all weather conditions giving passengers a very comfortable crossing in or out and meeting all time deadlines.

Description

SansSouci II built in 1995 in Western Australia under the USL Code to the "West Australian Department of Transport" (DOT) rigid survey requirements as a "Surveyed Passenger Vessel" (SPV379). Currently still under Survey and holding current SPV 379, last surveyed in February 2010. Built in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) with foam core for strength and durability whilst having excellent sound and temperature shielding qualities.

An SPV classed vessel must fulfill many regulatory requirements and undergo many checks from design, construction and operation. Every safety feature that can be imaginable has been implemented and regular survey checks are done annually from hull inspection, vessel integrity, underwater gear (prop and shaft), machinery in good and safe working condition, safety gear such as life rafts, Epirb's, fire extinguishers, engine room fire smothering system, life jackets, emergency radio and phone availability, electronics' in good working order.

This time I brought my son along and it was a trip of a life time. Phil got us to some great spots. Timmy gave us the memories with pictures of all the great waves.
